Top 10 Strongest Uchiha Clan Members

The Uchiha Clan is one of the most formidable and driving forces within the plot of the hit animanga Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto.

Top 10 Strongest Uchiha Clan Members

Even though during the events of the Naruto series and manga most of the Uchiha members have been wiped out apart from Sasuke and other mysterious figures, they still play an integral and important role within the series.

Ranking members of the Uchiha clan can be hard as they are all very powerful, and due to their downfall and massacre, it’s hard to compare all the clan members as they weren’t necessarily around at the same time.

We plan to rank them based on their skill rather than their popularity. This is a fun exercise for the Naruto super fans, so read on to learn our top picks.

Who Are The Uchiha Clan?

Most of the reason the clan has remained such a large part of the lore, even though they were wiped out by their own clan member Itachi Uchiha, is because they were one of the founding members of the Hidden Leaf Village.

Together with the Senju clan, the Uchiha clan formed what we have come to know as the Hidden Leaf Village.

The Senju and Uchiha were the two most powerful clans in the world at the time, while the Senju clan had the Wood Release of Hashirama Senju and their versatile skills, the Uchiha’s had the Kekkei Genkai of their Sharingan eye, which could also be used to control chakra beasts.

Inevitably, the two clans had some differences, during the Warring States Period they conflicted greatly and often fought for the number one spot as the most powerful clan.

The Uchiha clan was mutually moved to a settlement outside the village to create some peace. From here they were relied upon for their combative prowess and the abilities of the Sharingan, often conspiring to overtake the village from the darkness.

Top 10 Uchiha Members Ranked

We are going to start with number one and go backwards, as the top five can be pretty obvious while the last few can get a bit holey – let’s explore the list together!

Madara Uchiha

Madara Uchiha just has to top our list. Madara not only founded the actual Hidden Leaf Village with the Senju clan but led the Uchiha clan during its greatest period, arguably.

Even though Madara was ‘defeated’ by Hashirama Senju, one of the most powerful shinobi of all time, he still managed to cheat death for thousands of years and technically outlived Hashirama himself all thanks to his mastery of the Sharingan.

Moreover, Madara nearly managed to end the world alongside Obito/Tobi by merging with Ten Tails and Kaguya Otsutsuki herself.

By the time Madara is finally defeated, he was merely inches away from placing the whole world under Infinite Tsukuyomi and was merged with the Mother of Chakra herself as well as the God Tree.

Beyond being the most notable and skilled user of the Sharingan, Madara has had at least some part to play in nearly all the main events of the whole Naruto universe.

All the wars have some influence from Madara, he basically controlled the Akatsuki from the darkness and could control chakra beasts like dogs on a leash. He’s arguably one of the most powerful ninjas of all time, let alone within his own clan.

Itachi Uchiha

This could be debated among some fans, but I will explain my choice.

If we look at Itachi pre-Uchiha downfall, he was probably the most gifted student the village had ever seen. By the age of 10, he had already completed the chunin exams and conquered shinobi double his age. By age 12 he was the village’s youngest Anbu captain, and the youngest shinobi to ever make jonin.

By 13 he had already risen through the ranks of the village to the point where he had become a confidant of many Hidden Leaf Elders including Danzo as well as the Fourth Hokage.

Let’s not forget, he massacred the whole Uchiha clan when he was 13, arguably they didn’t have many strong members at this point, but the point should still stand.

Moreover, he is one of the most gifted with the Yang release and subsequently is one of the best genjutsu users in the whole shinobi world. He outsmarted Kabuto’s Reanimation Jutsu, in which only Madara was the other person to achieve this, as well as helping save the world by figuring out how to stop the jutsu.

Some will argue that Sasuke has defeated Itachi, so he should be above him. This depends on how you see the battle between him and Sasuke go down.

Even if you argue Itachi was fighting at his full power, that his whole plan wasn’t just to let Sasuke win as he had always wanted, there is also the case of his illness. Did Sasuke actually defeat Itachi, or did Itachi eventually just succumb to his disease? We will let you figure that out.

There potentially would be no Uchiha clan if Itachi hadn’t hatched the self-deprecating plan he had.

Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke Uchiha is definitely one of the most powerful of the whole clan. While being its surviving member (technically not true) for a long time he remained strong in his will to defeat his brother Itachi and avenge his whole clan.

He has to be ranked lower than Itachi for us, as without Itachi it’s plausible that Sasuke would become the shinobi that he did.

While Sasuke left the Hidden Leaf Village when he was only a genin, he sought out the teachings of Orochimaru. Not only did Sasuke become one of the few members of Orochimaru’s followers to ever master the curse mark, but he actually became powerful enough to kill Orochimaru himself.

Although even Sasuke himself admits that this was only possible due to Orochimaru being weakened.

Moreover, Sasuke came pretty close to defeating Naruto at different points. Considering that Naruto, with help, defeated both Obito and Madara, this is worth mentioning.

Regardless of your opinion on his battle with Itachi, Sasuke certainly went toe to toe with number two on the list, so it’s fair to say he has earned this spot.

Izuna Uchiha

Izuna is a really tough one to rank, we chose to put him here merely due to the lack of information on him, but he is arguably and historically recognised as one of the most powerful.

Izuna trained with his younger brother Madara and they often fought to test each other, so we can clearly assume he was one of the most powerful shinobi at the time.

Moreover, the pool of shinobi he was fighting was of a pretty high calibre. He fought Tobimara and Hashirama Senju often during this warring period.

Madara himself admits his brother was of equal power to him. The one day that Izuna took a fatal hit from Tobimara Madara took it upon himself to kill Izuna, as he wished so that he could harvest his eye and gain the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan that would enable Madara to fight Hashirama.

There isn’t much information on his actual abilities. What we do know is that he was one of the first to ever awaken the Sharingan eye alongside his brother Madara.

Based on this information we have to rank him higher than others, purely based on word of mouth that his powers were so strong.

Obito Uchiha

This, again, could draw some debate among fans. Many find that Obito wasn’t actually as strong as he seemed. As a child he was a pretty powerless shinobi that was often afraid of combat, this changed during that fateful day when he gained his Sharingan and Mangekyou only to be defeated by a falling boulder.

Many suggest this could have been his end if it wasn’t for Madara saving him and using Hasirama’s cells to heal him.

However, under the guise of Tobi, who is arguably White Zetsu rather than Obito, he created some serious problems for the Hidden Leaf Village but was more of a mastermind than a noteworthy combatant.

He was the leader of the Akatsuki, although led by Madara really, so he was certainly a powerful shinobi.

Arguably, he was the most adept user of the Kamui ability reserved only for Magekyou Sharingan users. By the time he is de-masked he has been surpassed by Madara’s awakening and probably would have been defeated alongside Madara had he not sacrificed himself.

Shisui Uchiha

Shisui Uchiha

Shisui was a pretty competent shinobi and displayed some serious skills during the small life he lived. Shisui definitely had the potential to be a seriously powerful Uchiha member had he not died, so it can be hard to rank him.

We had to rank him lower than Obito as it is merely speculation that he could be more powerful than the previous four.

At the young age of 13, Shisui displayed some serious power with the Sharingan. Not only had he unlocked his Mangekyou Sharingan at a young age enabling him access to Kotoamatsukami in both eyes, but was a serious implement in the Uchiha Coup D’etat, using the aforementioned genjutsu to control Fugaku.

Yes, Danzo did manage to take Shisui’s eye, but this was only after being forced to use Izanagi on him. Arguably, Shisui was better at using the Sharingan than Itachi and could have surpassed him had he not chosen to kill himself to prevent others from taking his power.

Moreover, Shisui was known as ‘Shisui the Body Flicker’ for his mastery of the body flicker technique. He apparently had a mastery of this technique that could rival even the Raikage’s.

Tajima Uchiha

The list can get a little sparse now, as many Uchiha members who will be mentioned have very little information as Izuna does.

Tajima Uchiha was Madara’s and Izuna’s father, we can assume he had some serious power as he was fighting against the top dogs of the Senju clan alongside his sons, who eventually surpassed his powers.

The fact he was fighting Hashirama and Tobimara, as well as Butsuma, of the Senju, he must have had some serious power to not die immediately.

He is depicted carrying a tanto often in both the manga and the anime, so we can assume he was adept at kenjutsu, or sword fighting.

Fugaku Uchiha

During the period of Sasuke and Itachi’s childhood, during the Fourth Hokage’s reign, Fugaku was the leader of the Uchiha clan as well as the leader of the Hidden Leaf Police Force.

Fugaku is perhaps more well known for his intelligence and political mind than anything. He withheld the peace between the Uchiha clan and the Village for a pretty long time, at the dislike of many Uchiha.

In his youth he fought during the Third Shinobi World War alongside the Fourth Hokage, a position which Fugaku was considered for, and earned himself the name ‘Wicked Eye Fugaku’ thanks to his mastery of the Sharingan and thus his earned Mangekyou Sharingan.

Sarada Uchiha

Sarada Uchiha is the child of Sasuke and Sakura, inheriting her mother’s intelligence and her father’s visual prowess. It’s worth mentioning Sarada here, while she definitely hasn’t achieved her full potential just yet, she could easily go up in the ranks of this list.

Sarada was only 11 when she awakened her Sharingan and has surpassed her father in terms of shinobi ranks already. Sarada has dreams of becoming the Hokage, she could be the first hokage from the Uchiha clan and as the youngest Uchiha member right now, she could outright revive the clan with the help of her father.

Naori Uchiha

Naori isn’t mentioned much in either the manga or the anime, but the small information we have certainly warrants a mention on this list. While it’s not clear at what exact period she existed, or if she even died, Itachi clearly points to her as the originator of the Izanami.

She clearly had a lot of influence within the clan and could compete with other shinobi, making her a seriously powerful kunoichi. The tales told of her certainly warrant her ranks on this list.

Conclusion

There you have it, our comprehensive list of the most powerful Uchiha members. As mentioned, it’s hard to compile a full list as we are only given information on a few Uchiha members worth mentioning.

One thing some fans may dislike is a refusal to mention Shin Uchiha. Although, we feel it’s pretty clear that Shin clearly isn’t an Uchiha, merely a copycat, so it’s hard to include him on the list. If we did, we could also include other transplantees such as Danzo Shimura and Kakashi Hatake.
